Wallpaper Sample Card

My younger brother gave us 2 huge old wallpaper sample books a while back containing beautiful paper and fabric samples.
It's his birthday soon so I thought I'd make him a card from the samples to show I have used them.
The picture I chose only had one full image of the woman's face within the  decorative frame, the other cropped image just had the inner circle (top left of picture)
As I wanted to decoupage the face I cut the face from the frame as the hole would be covered anyway with the circle topper.

I covered the back of the frame with a circle of card so that I could apply sticky foam pads to "lift" it from the card and to give me some support for the decoupaged topper.

After decoupaging the face I added it then applied gems around the edge of the frame and silver peel off  "leftovers" around the edge of the circle.
Because the main image was so detailed I left the rest of the card quite plain.
After inking the the edges of the green fabric I added it and the topper to the slightly textured white card, ran a thin silver peel off along it's right edge and stamped the sentiment and rounded off the edges.

Thinking Of You Card + Matching Envelope

Fab had just downloaded some of the beautiful papers from Claire's site
making-handmade-cards.com
After completing his wonderful Vintage Angel Christmas card for his Christmas Challenge site (see here ) Fab had some papers left over which I thought would make a "tasteful" bereavement card.
It's one of those sort of cards that you hope you'll not need, but is always handy to have in your collection - just in case.

After covering the card in the paper I inked the edge and rounded off the corners.
I then cut away the Christmas message from the round frame then stamped the sentiment on the card corner covering it with the sticky foam backed frame, then applied the gems.
The glittery pale gold organza ribbon matched perfectly but I didn't have enough to go across the card twice so I ended it under the embellishments.
The angel was decoupaged (3 layers) using different coloured off cuts from the scrap sheet then I used a "StarDust"  Sakura pen over the wings.

MCS - Another Walk In Wonderland Samples

Large Fairy Globe Card - using peels offs on the globe base and glitter on the wings of the fairy and butterflies.

Friendship Tag Book & Sleeve - I used the printed tags from the CD and decorated them with stamps, peel offs, flowers etc, all held together with a small ringbinder with various ribbons tied to it.

Acetate Fairy Card (With matching Envelope) -
The fairy silhouette was printed off onto acetate
and wrapped around a 5x7 card with a background and "Happy Birthday" printed on it, the butterflies were printed, cut out, decorated with Sakura and gems and glued to the front of the card.
Large Dancer Card - I first printed the silhouette of the dancer onto white card, then the background was printed onto orange card and attached to a 10x7 base card, I edged around the rim of the card with a black inkpad to define an edge. Simple, but effective.
Thinking Of You - The main part of the card is taken from the "My Craft Studio's "Elements" section all I had to do was print off the doves and add some mirror card and gems.
Large Butterfly Pyramage Card - Again the main part of this card is from the "Elements" section of the CD. I just pyramarged the butterfly added some "metallic domes", printed off and added a few more flowers and added the sentiment. The right of the card is cut slightly shorter than the back and I added a strip of pale lilac material, the edge of which I covered over with a thin gold peel off.

Dome Card -The fairy was printed off and coloured with Coloursoft pencils and Sakura glitter pens. The inside of the card has a printed image and I also printed a larger pair of wings fromn the butterfly for the fairy.
I covered the inside of the front with acetate so that I could then add the flowers and butterfly
Deepest Sympathy Card - I printed off the image slightly larger so that I could "dome" it over a 7x5 card, I traced around the "lacy" part with dimentual pearlized paints and added the doves and sentiment.
Find Yourself A Prince Card - Simply a printed off image with ribbons and sentiment attached.
Silhouette Card - The backgound was printed off and attached to a 5x7 card and decorated with small pink and clear gems, the front was printed onto pink card slight wide than the base card, I then cut out the oval and rectangle for the image and sentiment,  the main image and sentiment were both printed off onto acetate and attacted to the inside front of the pink card,
Because it's slightly wide than the base card you get this lovely "domed" effect.

Well that's it, I hope you liked them.

Emo Card

It's my niece's 16th Birthday soon and as she's a bit of an Emo I decided to sketch her in true Gothic style and used the same method of card I used before on the Black Deco card I just cut a different shaped front window.
The back of the card is the same colour as her skirt.(Pink & Black)
As the card opens so the purple curtains pull back to reveal the Birtday girl.
I kept the card itself pretty simple as I wanted my drawing to be the eye catching part.
I hope she likes it!?
